WHY VOCALDI EXISTS
I found out I was dyslexic at college, which explained quite a lot. I usually know what I’m trying to say, but turning it into clean writing can be a pain, and reading over the same thing again and again doesn’t always help.
So I started building voice tools. I’d talk to get the idea out, then listen back because I can hear mistakes that I completely miss when I’m reading.
Vocaldi is basically the version of that workflow I always wanted. It works anywhere on my Mac, and the core speech processing stays local. My brother and I built it for me first, but I think it could help a lot of other people too.
TWO SIMPLE WAYS TO WORK
Press your activation shortcut and speak naturally. Vocaldi types directly wherever your cursor is—in Notes, Word, Google Docs, Notion, email and other Mac apps.
Capture the complete idea first. Organize, edit and polish it afterward.
Highlight a sentence, paragraph or longer passage and activate read-aloud. Vocaldi reads the selected text immediately, giving you another way to review instructions, drafts, emails and documents.

EVERYDAY WORKFLOWS
Sometimes an idea feels complete in your mind but becomes fragmented while typing it. Speak the full thought while it is present. Vocaldi captures it as text so you can return to the structure, spelling and formatting afterward.

Long instructions and dense paragraphs can become difficult to follow on screen. Highlight one section at a time and listen to it aloud. Pause between sections and dictate the important actions into a separate checklist.

After reading the same document repeatedly, it becomes easy to see what you intended to write instead of what is actually there. Listen for missing words, repetition, unnatural phrasing and sentences that run too long. Hearing the writing gives you a different way to review it.
